This is one of my Favorite Princess Grace Images caught by her close friend and royal family Photographer Howell Conant. Sitting on the bedroom floor of her palace bedroom doing some last minute Christmas wrapping.
Wrapping gift's is one of my favorite holiday past times. I remember my own Mom hiding away in her bedroom with the door locked from my prying eyes. There was always ribbons and gift tags galore.
This year with the purse strings so tight. There is very little to wrap, but at Coach this year I am getting my holiday fill- finally learning the art of tying a satin bow.
Here is a few of my Holiday gift wrap favorites this year:
Honestly it has not felt much like Christmas time until I heard this song for the first time the other eve. I have had only few glimmers before that. Reading Christmas cards from loved ones, the sound of the Salvation Army Bell ringing at the entrance to the grocery store or Ahmed and I driving down are favorite little cul de sac. Perfect little white houses by the golf course. Trees covered with multi-colored twinkling lights and blanketed with snow. Wreathes spotlighted on red front doors even welcoming to strangers like us. The charming Glimpses of there beautifully decorated Christmas trees in there front windows at a passing glance. Such little joys to see the christmas spirit.
I always get a little sad in my nostalgia for loved ones gone and memories of family. My own little family growing up. My Dad, My Mom and cat Flex. Oh the season was so beautifully simple. Especially when we moved to Minnesota and had my dream come true of having a two story house finally @ Berkman Ct. Our little neighborhood was so magical!!!
-Going to church every Sunday during Advent.
-Wrapping presents in my parents's bedroom away from prying eyes:).
-Getting our tree right after my birthday on the 9th.
-The laughter of what kind of tree my Dad would cut down. Would it fit in the garage even?!?!
-My Mom's trademark white chocolate covered pretzels.
-Watching rudolf the red-nosed reindeer with my Mom.
-Shopping with my Dad for my Mom's gifts. A nightgown, a purse or some kind of piece of jewelry.
-Going over to Crystals mom's house to help decorate before thanksgiving:)
-Nat King Cole and the chipmunks christmas on my Dad's record player.
-The 1960's sears nativity scene lighted up in it's special place.
-Sitting all cozy together with my parents on the night before Christmas before trekking down the street to Midnight Mass.
-The smell of Incense overload at Church.
-Packing the Big ol Buick LaSabre with gifts for our annual Christmas day trip to Grandpa and Grandma Friese's to be with my cousins.
-Spending the rest of the Christmas Holiday off from school playing with my friends.
What is your favorite Christmas season Memory? Have a wonderful Weekend Friends.
I know. I know. Holy buckets, she made some pages. I was on a baby bit burnout after creating the class. *Speaking of class, I think they are ready to launch it soon!! I will of course keep you all posted. Now enough about that. I do hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I am trying to keep up on your posts to see:)
Ours turned out fabulous. Low-key and food feasting abounding for sure. One thing I am giving thanks for is the reminder that things do not have to perfectly as planned... I attempted once again my grandmothers baked corn. A bit on the dry side. But, it was just worth it getting the chance to hold that shaky hand written recipe card of hers. Feeling that connection to her on a day where she is on my mind.
Staying home turned out to be a good choice as much as I missed my Mom. She ended up having a rough time with her treatment (Nope she does not get thanksgiving off of that, I truly wish she could of to say the least). Overall it went well, but this new rounds first days exhaust her. As much as I wanted to see her, it was best that she could just go home and rest. Not have to worry about entertaining.
In the end reflecting today, while creating my pages. I felt at peace knowing this year was truly a celebration of giving thanks and eating so much I passed out with ease when bed-time hit.

I do hope you have a good Black Friday and weekend friends! Now I am ready to go veg some more:)
So, I awoke this morning! To a surprising sunny day. Cold, but brilliantly sunny. Plans had to be changed for Thanksgiving travel due to some pretty intense weather that was coming our way. Of course I fell for it again, it turned out to be not so bad. Now I missed out on a lovely trip to my Mom's:( But, we have all the fixing's here and we will make the best of it. Be Thankful for what we have today.
This morning I had some yummy cinnamon rolls from Ikea. Yes, Ikea. Yesterday morning Ahmed had a immigration appointment up in St.Paul. I Couldn't allow his Egyptian self to Drive in that weather for his last finger printing before he becomes a US Citizen. He also received his Study guide for his citizen test. Being the History and Political Science Buff that I am, I could not resist paging through it. I can't wait to help him study-Flash cards and all!
So, afterwards we stopped at Ikea shortly to beat the bad weather. We skipped the showroom and did some shopping. Picking up some odds and ends including some new everyday dishes. We also went to town with their yummy groceries. Desserts and sparkling pear juice for me. Ahmed herring, sardines and some cracker fish paste. Ah yuck. But, whatever floats his appetite boat.
We left in time and beat the mini ice storm. Then last evening I cozied up on the couch and watched some shows. While Ahmed Studied for his upcoming finals. Then headed out with my pal Amy to see my Best friend that is a boy:) play with his band. It was a nice little event, best part talking and listening to tunes with Amy in her car before heading up to the flat (APT:) to make a night of it.
Now I am ready to begin some cooking and cleaning before Ahmed comes home from work for our little feast.
Please have a lovely one!!! I hope you are not on the computer like me:) be back tomorrow.
