Blogging is not dead. Recently I was re-listening to some of Elise Gets Crafty podcast's and the discussions of Blogs came up pretty frequently. One that really jumped out at me was the subject of blogs and how they have evolved. It seemed when I began blogging (2007) it was the glory days of it. It was so new and exciting... I couldn't wait each morning to read the oodles of inspiration on my Google Reader (RIP, oh I miss that simple format). Blog's back then were so simple, no rules. Just words and photos. Yes, they had some fancy banners and even the blog writers favorite tunes on the sidebar. *Don't miss that. I would dread that initial blare of tunage. I couldn't click faster on the silence button:)
Fast forward to now. Blogs are more alive than ever. So, polished and expertly branded. Navigation bars and all:) I mean now a days, they are the trendsetters, replacing the voice of magazines on the World Wide Web. Any subject of interest is out there for anyone. It makes me so happy to see people sharing their passions in such a creative way.
Now with my Blog lovin feed on my iPhone and IPad, I have constant access to my favorite daily reads anytime I have downtime. I love the random quirks and inspiration I find.
Here is a few of my saved favorites as of late:
Love a peek inside my favorite Illustrator's Creative Space. STUDIO TOUR: MAIRA KALMAN STUDIO TOUR via Design Sponge.
Love this classic unintentional trend...but I am afraid it would not work in ATX. A Random Winter Trend via A Cup of Jo.
Who can't resist crisp clean sheets... Love this A Weekend of Musts via The Fresh Exchange (a new favorite blog read).
We all have one, what's yours? The Phone Voice via Garance Dore.
Happy Sunday Blog Reading. Love, C.
