O.K. I have a confession to make... I am a lifelong sporadic nail biter. It comes and goes in spurts. Usually stress related and currently I am biting. So, I am taking manicure matters in hand and getting out my home kit again. It is pretty basic, I am not one for elaborate nails, I prefer simple and classic active length. I don't want my have nails get in the way of typing and writing:) Just the way my Momma taught me. Finding a comfortable spot (outside on her deck was a favorite), a glass of something cool and magazine during drying time. And enjoy the lovely little ritual of self-care. Here is my home manicure essentials:
My Essentials: (Top L to R) Ultra slim stainless steel nail clipper ($35). I know their a bit steep in price vs. the drugstore, but they're worth it. Just slim enough to trim the most delicate of nail corners. Dior Nail Glow., this stuff is amazing! It is a quick manicure in a bottle. Giving your nails that healthy pink glow and the Dior patented brush creates such ease to applying. Sidenote: Dior was one of the first lines I worked for in the cosmetic industry and I am still very loyal to their nail line. And the Gel top coat ($27) is a extra step I don't mind doing to keep that at home Manicure looking fresh longer. Tweezerman 'skinny' Nail file. 'Creme Abricot' Nail Cream, A favorite of mine for many years. It transforms dry cuticles is seconds and lasts through daily hand washing. Tweezerman Ultra Precision Cuticle Nipper. 'Dissolvant Abricot' Nail Polish Remover. I love how it hydrates, is acetone free and comes in such a lovely bottle. Last but not least the perfect nail kit bag, CatEyes London, Mademoiselle. It is sturdy, playful and perfect just in case they're spills.
Curious now what are your nail upkeep rituals? Are you a frequent visitor to the nail salon or do like home manicures like myself? What are some of your go to products? Do share:)
Happy Thursday!
Love, C.
